The Traversée des Alpages
This trail takes you through a series of mountain pastures located above Crans-Montana, between meadows, traditional chalets and spectacular views of the surrounding peaks.
The departure point is at Merbé, a middle station of the Crans–Cry d’Er ski lift. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view before heading down a peaceful path to the Colombire Hamlet eco-museumTarget not accessible, which recounts the history of “mayens” (traditional Valais lodges) and the region’s alpine pasture practices.
Accessible to all, this hike immerses you in a landscape shaped by alpine agriculture, long before the rise of tourism, which transformed the area into a holiday resort at the end of the 19th century.
An ideal walk to combine relaxation, culture and nature.
